Happy Lunar New Year! On February 16th, many of our fellow Seawolves had an awesome celebration of the traditional culture holiday. 2018 is the year of the dog, which means there will be a lot of honesty and loyalty in our community! Traditions of the lunar new year including giving red envelopes to youths as well as having a festival dinner on the New Year's Eve with friends and family. For many Asian cultures, the dinner on the New Year’s Eve (Nián yè fàn) can be seen as the most important gathering for the family. No matter where you are, this dinner is the time for everyone to come together and celebrate all of the happiness within the past year, which will also continue into the following year. Kids are always the happiest during this holiday due to the money in the red envelopes (Hóngbāo) from their elders as a way to pass down the luck and the happiness. The Community of Awesome wishes you all the best and happiness within the New Year.
